Producing Lemons

Well yesterday you know we talked about how I had gone thru being down and depressed at were I was in my life.



Well today I wanna talk about what we can do to help others out so they don't have to deal with the same stuff.



The biggest thing we can do is encourage. When you encourage someone they either know that their work is seen or that someone is behind them. John Maxwell said that when you try something new you stick your head out there and there is always someone that is gonna try and cut it off. Well if we have people encouraging us we aren't gonna fall victim to those attacks cause we will know God has us were he wants us to be.



Now I'm not just talking about this to show what can help me. I'm talking about this cause honestly I don't believe I'm in the same position. We are all trying new things in God and doing what He want's us to do and we need encouragement if we are ever gonna make it.



Another thing we can do is if we see someone doing something that we like or you think they should do more often. Praise them for it. If you praise someone for doing good or doing something cool when you praise them it shows them that. They are gonna do what is good more often when they are praised for it. It goes the same when your in leadership and someone is not participating or isn't doing the best things in life. You praise them for the good. If they keep doing good the other things are gonna fall into line.



Honestly as a leader you can do so much for yourself but unless you are helping others your not a leader. All you are doing is bettering yourself. As leaders we need to be seeing in people what they are good at, what they can do to help out and ways to get people involved.



I've started going thru that alot lately. I've gotten to the point right now I'm like in observation mode or something. I'm looking to see what people are attracted to, what gets people involved. By know this I can find ways to get more people involved. As leaders we not only need to provide opportunities for people to get involved whether it be service or just helping others to get together have fun. Now you can provide opportunities but during those opportunities you need to find out what people are good at and assign them to what they can excel at. Some people are good at organizing people, assign them to help you keep track on everyone and get them together to do tasks.



Some people are really good at creativity in planning events and service projects and as a leader its only going to be beneficial if you get them involved. The way this generation is they want to be involved, they want to be doing something. Unless we can find ways for them to get involved and do something its going to be hard to reach out to them if they don't have any were to fit in.



Honestly that's all a leader is and does. They cater to the people and do what's best for them. They keep people in line for the sake of everyone else, they help plan events so others can get involved and they share what God is doing so others can learn. Leaders are all about helping and ministering to others. They are selfless and not selfish.



Now here's the scary part of being a leader. People are looking up to you. Whatever you do your going to produce. So if you are leading people and you have problem with other people and say so behind there backs you are going to reproduce that in those following you. Wait tell they are behind your back and you can imagine what they are gonna say about yourself.



Part of being a leader is getting the problem out of your life so you can help others getting it out of theirs. Now even sin that you have hidden will be sure to find you out cause its gonna start showing up in those that are following you. That's why also as being in a place a leadership your life needs to be exposed. As you grow as a leader your life is less private and you have less freedom in a sense. It's all part of the roll.



Another problem you will face as a leader is you are going to feel alone. You aren't doing the same things as everyone else and it will cause you to feel alone. Now when you face that what are you going to do with it? We need to not let it affect us. If we feel alone look at the situation and wonder why we feel alone. Is everyone else going out partying or drinking well then its a good thing you are alone. Being alone isn't always bad. But when we start feeling alone and let it get to us. Now I admit I deal with this alot. I think this is Satan's strongest reign on leaders alot of the time. He shows them that they are alone and makes them feel bad for it.



The last biggest problem I feel in leadership that can come in is doubt. You will get to the point were you will start doubting what you are doing or were God has you. It's normal. But you need to let God control the situation and keep doing what He wants you to do. When you start doing things for God your not use to it so it isn't gonna seem right at first with your body but God has called you to do it and so you need to do it.



When God calls you to pray for someone in the middle of the mall. Your gonna start doubting cause you think it's weird or isn't normal. But it doesn't change the fact that God has called you to do it. As you do it you become use to it and it becomes part of your life.



Now there's more I can add but I think I will save it for later. I want to give everyone a chance to add feedback to what was said and to discuss it. Also feel free to add any points you feel should be added. I want to make this a resource on leadership so it will be cool to have many people involved in this.
